John Briggs
President
John Briggs is the President of Eydent Insurance Services LLC. John has responsibility for all MGA/MGU operations including those purchased from General Agency Services in January 2015 with programs totaling $75,000,000 in annual premiums.
From 2001 to 2015, John served as President and CEO of President and CEO, General Agency Services, Inc. (MGU) and its subsidiaries General Agency Services Captive (SAC), Ltd. (GASCAP); Energy Producers Insurance Company, Ltd. (EPIC); and Agency Program Insurance Company (APIC). EPIC, GASCAP and APIC provided re-insurance to all of General Agency Services, Inc. programs.
Prior to leading GAS, Mr. Briggs created and ran day to day operations for the Michigan Oil And Gas Association’s Fronted Captive Program (EPIC) formerly MOGA Self-Insured Workers Compensation Fund. In that role, he was responsible for all aspects including Bureau filings, claims oversight, litigation strategies, agency appointments and production, dividend calculations, working in cooperation with off-shore managers, attorneys and auditors. Formed EPIC, a Bermuda captive, (7-1-98) to expand upon early success of Self- Insured Fund.
John graduated from Baker College with a B.A and emphasis in Accounting. He is married with five children and two grandchildren.
