His former company is still in operation today. Before his retirement, he worked a full career with the Bartlett Tree Expert Company of Stamford, Connecticut, where he served as sales representative in Southampton, New York and later as branch manager in Huntington, New York. Mr. Iurka is also a volunteer leader serving industry business groups such as Professional Certified Applicators of Long Island and Green Point of New York. His approval designation is NY-01.

Background: Mr. McDonald has been involved in the tree care industry for over 32 years. Following forestry college at Paul Smith’s College of Forestry, he learned the art and science of tree care working with The Davey Tree Expert Co. in positions from tree climber to district manager. After working with The Davey Tree Expert Co., Mr. McDonald helped pioneer the introduction and implementation of biostimulants in the tree care industry. As senior vice president for Plant Health Care Inc., he developed new markets and helped research mycorrhizal fungi – an environmentally-friendly method of maintaining and improving tree health – with the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew, England, and lectured with the U.S.G.A. (United States Golf Association) in Ireland. His approval designation is PA-01.

Background: Martin has led Eydent Insurance Services’ loss control and prevention department since he joined the company in 2002. Martin spends the majority of his time traveling throughout the United States, conducting field inspections of the company’s various insureds. He provides additional value to the insureds by organizing and directing onsite company safety procedures and training, and assisting them to draft a health and safety manual for their organizations. Prior to joining Eydent, Martin worked for 32 years at the Buick Olds Cadillac Body Plant in Lansing, Michigan, where he was the Health and Safety Coordinator. Martin is extremely well versed in all aspects of safety and has served as Co-Chair of the Shell Legacy Safety Program for the State of Michigan.
Martin Hollern serves as our in-house Certified Loss Control & Field Safety Representative. Martin provides our clients with facility and job site inspections, with recommendations for complying with federal and state OSHA standards and DOT regulations. These include looking over written policies and procedures, helping develop written safety policies and procedures, looking over vehicle inspection documentation, driver qualification files, determining what safety training is required and helping find a means to attain training.
